Our goal is to pick up where other agencies leave off. With the assistance of donations to support our array of programs, we can provide opportunities for individuals to participate in educational, cultural, athletic, and community enrichment programs. We are dedicated to impacting the lives of those who have the desire, but not the funds, to enhance their lives.
Dear Helping Hands,
My children, Sienna and Asher, were recipients of one of your scholarships for ISR swim lessons this summer. I would just like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity to provide my children with this invaluable gift that could potentially save their lives one day. Yvonne Mouser, the instructor, was beyond amazing with the kids and truly has a gift for what she does. Patience is a virtue she definitely possesses. My husband and I never would've been able to give our children ISR lessons on our own as he is a substitute teacher, and waiter at a restaurant and I am a stay at home mom. Money is always tight for us and things that are usually extracurricular are not in our budget for us, so to be able to have this gifted to us was truly a blessing that is greatly appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Meagan and Matthew R., mom and dad to Sienna and Asher. "Thank you for sponsoring my daughter for ISR it was a great experience and will be very helpful in helping me make sure my daughter can help herself if she has a problem in and around a pool. Thanks again so much for giving her this opportunity to be able to do this." Allison P. - Danika Earlier this summer, my husband and I set a goal to enroll our 4 year old daughter Madi in ISR swimming lessons. Even though she had received group swimming lessons every summer, she had developed a fear of going underwater or "sinking to the bottom." She refused to enter the pool without a floating ring, and she would panic if water got on her face. We knew she needed swimming lessons that would teach her skills she would retain to allow her to be comfortable in the water, and more importantly, protect herself should the unthinkable happen. Unfortunately, because we are a single income family with a special needs child, the cost of ISR was just too much for our family to handle. But thanks to Helping Hands Seminole and our ISR instructor Yvonne Mouser, we are now the proud parents of a little mermaid! Madi is a different child in the water than she was just a few weeks ago. She asks every day if she can go swim at a pool, and she loves to show off for our family and friends. We are thrilled that Madi has found a confidence in the water that she lacked, and just as important are the safety skills ISR has taught her. Madi can now swim, flip to floating on her back to conserve energy and breathe, and then flip to swimming again when she's ready. She knows to look for an exit such as the wall or the steps, or to float and wait for help to arrive. Without Helping Hands Seminole, none of this would have been possible. Our entire family extends our sincerest thanks, and we can now look forward to many summers of swimming and splashing with our little mermaid! Sincerely, Rebecca R. |
